Submit to The Amargi

Want to write, report, or podcast for The Amargi? We welcome your voice.

At The Amargi, we publish original journalism, analysis, and commentary related to Kurdistan, Iraq, Turkey, Syria, Iran, and the wider Middle East. Our work centers on issues tied to the Kurdish question, democratic struggles, political repression, resistance, gender justice, minority rights, environmental crises, and broader socio-political transformations in the region.

Whether you’re a seasoned journalist, an emerging writer, an academic, or someone with a powerful local story—if your pitch is grounded, insightful, and accurate, we want to hear from you.

What We Accept

We welcome:

  • Reported Features (1,200–2,000 words)
Deep dives, field reports, human interest stories, investigations, or original interviews.
  • Opinion & Analysis (800–1,200 words)
Sharp, well-argued commentary based on evidence, not ideology.
  • Special Reports & Long Essays (1,500–2,500 words)
We seek in-depth stories that challenge dominant narratives and explore overlooked histories, struggles, and movements across Kurdistan and the region.
  • Dispatches or Columns (600–900 words)
First-hand reflections, timely reactions, or political insights from the ground.
  • Photo Essays, Documentaries, Podcasts & Interviews
Visual and audio storytelling, or ideas for podcast collaboration? We’re open. Email us.
