Ceasefire and Integration Agreement Reached Between Damascus and SDF

A comprehensive ceasefire agreement has been reached between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces, setting out a phased process for military, security, and administrative integration across northeast Syria, the SDF announced.
Under the agreement, military forces will withdraw from frontline contact points, while Interior Ministry security forces will enter the city centers of Hasakah and Qamishli. A gradual integration of security forces in the region will follow. Militarily, the deal provides for the formation of a new division composed of three brigades from the SDF, alongside the establishment of a Kobani brigade within a division affiliated with Aleppo province.
The agreement also includes the integration of Autonomous Administration institutions into Syrian state structures, with guarantees for the continued employment of civilian staff. In parallel, the parties agreed to address Kurdish civil and educational rights and to facilitate the return of displaced residents to their areas.
According to the SDF Media Center, the deal aims to preserve Syria’s territorial unity while advancing full integration through coordination and cooperation among all parties, framing the agreement as a step toward stabilizing the region and contributing to the country’s broader reconstruction efforts.
